Drunk techie refuses to take breath analyser test, assaults cops

Hyderabad:A drunk techie had allegedly assaulted a police officer who insisted him to take a breath analyser test in Hyderabad. The incident took place during a drunk driving test at Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) in the city late on Friday night. When the policemen insisted that he cannot go without taking the test, he allegedly assaulted them. Inquiries revealed the biker's identity as Satish Kumar. He is working for a software firm in the city.

On Friday night, Kukatpally traffic staff were conducting drunk driving checks at KPHB IX phase X roads. Around 11.05 pm, the police intercepted a Bullet bike no TS22 A 3477. They asked him to cooperate with the breath analyser test, but he reportedly refused. Further, when they said that he should not go ahead without taking the test, Satish Kumar allegedly started abusing the police personnel on duty.

He was accused of assaulting one of them by holding his shirt collar. He further pushed the men in kakhi and tried to escape from the spot.

Police, however, caught him and put him to the breath analyser test, during which he was found to be under the effect of alcohol and breath analyser test showed 84 Mg/dl alcohol percentage reading.

As he had misbehaved and assaulted police personnel, a case was registered against him and he was arrested on Saturday.
