EAMCET may be conducted in September: Telangana Education Dept
By Newsmeter Network Published on 10 Aug 2020 4:52 PM GMTHyderabad: In a meeting conducted by higher officials at the Telangana's Department of Education on Monday, August 10th, it was suggested that the Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) be conducted in September.
It was proposed by the officials that the exams be conducted on September 9, 10, 111, and 14. It was also suggested that the Engineering Common Entrance Test be conducted on August 31, and Polytechnic entrance test be on September 2.
However, the final dates will only be finalised once the Telangana High Court approves.
Education Minister Sabitha Reddy also said that classes for second-year intermediate students will be held from August 17 onwards, and admissions for intermediate students for the academic year 2020-21 will be kicked off from September.
It was also reported that digital classes for students in government schools will be starting from August 20th, and that for students in grades 6th to 10th, classes will be conducted through T-SAT.
Officials added that they are awaiting the Supreme Court's direction on final year examinations, which will be announced on August 14th, to take the decision on conducting final year exams for PG and UG students.
The officials further added that all the entrance tests, as and when approved by the court, will be conducted with regards to Covid-19 safety.
