GATE-2020 Admit cards released by IITs on January 3
By Newsmeter Network Published on 3 Jan 2020 12:42 PM GMTHyderabad: Countdown for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) -2020 began with the release of Admit cards by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) on Friday.
The national entrance examination is mandatory for those seeking admissions into Masterās programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Science.
GATE is jointly conducted by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, under Union HRD Ministry.
GATE examination will be held on February 1, 2, 8 and 9. About 8.6 lakh students registered for the exam between August 31 and October 5 last year. Results will be declared on March 16.
GATE is an examination based on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering, Technology, Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science.
GATE-2020, a purely Computer Based Test (CBT), will be conducted for 25 subjects spread over eight sessions. The eventual score would reflect the relative performance level of the candidate in a particular subject, which is quantified based on the several years of examination data. The GATE 2020 score is valid for three years from the date of announcement of the results.
