Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will hand over appointment letters to 563 candidates selected through the Telangana State Public Service Commission’s (TGPSC) Group -I recruitment process, on September 27.

Appointment ceremony at Shilpakala Vedika

The handing over ceremony will take place at Shilpakala Vedika on Saturday evening. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao held a teleconference with senior officials to review the arrangements.

563 candidates across 18 departments

A total of 563 candidates, selected through the Group-I recruitment process, will be issued appointment letters. These candidates belong to around 18 government departments, with the highest numbers recruited for the Revenue, Home, and Panchayat Raj departments.

Families to join the occasion

Each candidate will be permitted to bring two family members to the ceremony. Ministers from the state cabinet have also been invited to the event. The Chief Secretary instructed officials to complete the verification of certificates by Friday.

Long-term commitment to public service

Highlighting the significance of the event, the Chief Secretary said the recruits would serve the state for the next three decades. He directed officials to ensure that the ceremony is held in an inspiring atmosphere that instills pride and dignity in public service among the new appointees.

Coordination among departments

Given the large representation from key departments, the Chief Secretary asked the Secretaries of Revenue, Home, and General Administration Department (GAD) to coordinate closely for the smooth conduct of the program.

Back ground

A few days ago, the Telangana High Court ordered TGPSC to issue the appointment orders to 563 candidates. It also clarified that the appointments will remain subject to the outcome of the pending writ appeals.

Division Bench Sets Aside Single Judge’s Order

The Bench, comprising Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin, suspended the September 9 order of Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao, who had earlier scrapped the final marks list and directed a fresh evaluation of all answer scripts using the moderation method.

Green Signal for Appointments

With the suspension in place, the TGPSC can proceed with issuing appointment orders to the selected candidates. However, the appointments are provisional until the writ appeals are decided.

Next Hearing on October 15

The appeals filed by TGPSC will come up for final hearing on October 15.
