Hyderabad: Higher Education Department has announced that there will be no hike in the fee structure for private unaided higher education institutions in Telangana for the academic year 2025-26.
The decision has brought relief to students and parents.
Existing Fee Structure to Continue
According to an order issued by Education Secretary Yogita Rana, the fee structure determined by the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) for the block period 2022-25 will continue for another year.
The decision applies to a wide range of courses, including BE/B. Tech, ME/M.Tech, B.Arch, M.Arch, B.Pharmacy, M.Pharmacy, Pharm.D, Pharm.D (PB), MBA, MCA, MBA (integrated), and B.Vocational courses.
Collegesā revision proposals rejected
The department noted that proposals submitted by private colleges for fee revisions during a meeting with TAFRC on June 18 did not conform to the parameters and conditions prescribed by the Supreme Court and High Court orders. As a result, no changes have been approved.
Committee to review fee fixation norms
The government also mentioned in the order that it may constitute a committee to examine the existing fee fixation parameters and recommend revisions for private unaided professional colleges in the future. Until such a review is carried out, the current fee structure will remain in force.
