Deputy Commissioner of Directorate of Government Examinations K. Srinivas Rao has lodged a formal complaint with Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police about fraudulent websites closely resembling the official portal of the Telangana State Board of Secondary Education (TS SSC Board).
According to the Deputy Commissioner, the Directorate of Government Examinations, Telangana State, oversees various examinations, with the SSC Public Examinations being a major annual event conducted in March and April. The entire process of collecting data from SSC students relies on the official Board website, namely www.bse.telangana.gov.in.
In his complaint, Rao revealed that the selected computer agency for the department, Magnetic Infotech Pvt. Ltd., Secunderabad, brought to his attention the existence of certain fake websites bearing striking similarities to the home page of the Telangana SSC Board website. The agency urged Rao to file a complaint with the relevant authorities to promptly deactivate these misleading websites. The identified fake websites are as follows:
https://bsetelangana.co.in
http://www.bsetelanganagov.in
The complaint comes at a critical time when pre-examination activities for the SSC Public Examinations scheduled for March 2024 are underway. The entire process, including the collection of student data and other examination-related tasks, is currently being conducted online. Various authorities across the state, such as District Educational Officers and heads of secondary schools, heavily rely on the official Board website, www.bse.telangana.gov.in.
Rao has urgently requested the Cyber Crime Police to investigate and deactivate the identified fake websites to prevent any potential hardships for students and the public.
