āWithin 48 hours of coming to power, the peopleās government launched free TGRTC bus travel for women and enhanced Aarogyasri limit to Rs 10 lakhs. The government recruited more than 57,000 jobs in the 15 months of the Congress government and supplied up to 200 units of free power to 50 lakh poor families. Caste census
āRahul Gandhi said that the caste census is like an X-ray for the society. We conducted the caste census and adopted the BC reservation bill on Monday,ā he said.
The caste survey disclosed that the BC population constituted 56.36 per cent and the government decided to provide 42 per cent reservation to the Backward Communities in education, job and political opportunities. A bill for SC classification was also introduced in the House. The government committed to render justice to the SC community by adopting the bill, he said.
The government reformed the administration and moved forward with a transparent policy. We did not back down even though State revenues decreased and debt burden increased. It is the reason why the government adopted austerity measures and moved according to a plan, he said.
The CM said the government is making efforts to increase revenue through sand sales by streamlining the policies and the system. The previous government generated only Rs 1.50 crore in revenue from sand sales every day. Now, it has been increased to Rs 3.5 crore due to strict measures taken by the government.
