Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday distributed appointment orders to 1,370 Group–III candidates selected across 25 government departments at the `Koluvula Panduga’ programme held at Shilpa Kala Vedika.

Describing the occasion as a moment of pride for families, the Chief Minister said there is no greater joy for parents than seeing their children secure dignified employment after years of sacrifice.

Parents’ sacrifices and youth aspirations

Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Chief Minister recalled the struggles of parents, many of them daily wage labourers, who toiled relentlessly to educate their children and prepare them for competitive examinations.

He said the government recognises these sacrifices and is committed to ensuring fair opportunities for the youth of Telangana.

Students’ role in Telangana Movement

Revanth Reddy highlighted the historic contribution of students from Osmania University and Kakatiya University in various social movements, including the Telangana statehood struggle. He said students had even laid down their lives at critical moments to achieve the separate state.

Criticism of previous regime

Taking a swipe at the previous government, the Chief Minister alleged that despite being in power for a decade, it failed to prioritise government recruitment and neglected the aspirations of unemployed youth.

Political and family interests, he said, were placed above public welfare, leading to prolonged frustration among job seekers. He added that the resolve of unemployed youth ultimately paved the way for the present people’s government.

Overhaul of TGPSC and Transparent Recruitment

Referring to alleged irregularities in the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC), the Chief Minister stated that Group–I examinations had not been conducted for 14 years and pointed to the disproportionate number of applicants for limited posts.

He asserted that the present government has overhauled TGPSC after studying the UPSC model to ensure transparency and accountability. Recruitments to Group–I, Group–II, Group–III, and teacher posts, he said, have now been conducted responsibly and without errors, despite attempts to stall the process through litigation.

70,000 jobs filled in two years

The Chief Minister informed that nearly 70,000 government jobs have been filled over the last two years. Appointment letters were distributed at various public venues, including LB Stadium, Shilparamam, the Irrigation Department office, and near the Dr B.R. Ambedkar statue, marking what he called a renewed commitment to fair recruitment.

Government job is an emotion

Emphasising public service, Revanth Reddy said a Telangana government job is not merely employment but an emotion. Government employees, he said, are key partners in rebuilding the State and must serve people with integrity, empathy, and dedication.

Focus on Education and Development

Recalling former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s emphasis on education and irrigation, the Chief Minister said that while access to education has improved, quality remains a challenge.

He pointed out the need to restore public confidence in government schools by delivering quality education, alongside skill development to prepare youth for national and global competition.

Vision for 2047

Noting that Telangana has emerged as the country’s largest paddy-producing state, the Chief Minister said the government’s broader vision is to transform Telangana into a three trillion-dollar economy by 2047.

He urged the newly appointed employees to serve the poor, respect their parents, and remain independent of political pressures while discharging their duties.
