Hyderabad: Glendale students bag GED award for innovative organic farming project

Hyderabad: Five students from Glendale Academy, Suncity, won gold in the Middle School Category at the Global Excellence Day (GED) 2025, recently held in Singapore. The award was given for their project regarding the importance of organic farming and sustainable agriculture

On Wednesday, they were felicitated by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for their achievement.

The proud team, Green Glen Guardians, comprised Aaradhya Duddilla Sripadarao (Grade 6), Nigama Penmetsa (Grade 6), Syeda Aliza Zayma (Grade 6), Rahini Samhitha Verma Dantuluri (Grade 7), and Jaden D Rozario (Grade 7).

They competed against more than 200 students from 11 schools across the globe.

Importance of organic farming

Their award-winning project, “The Good Food Movement,” presented under the theme “Kaizen” (Continuous Improvement), highlighted the importance of organic farming and sustainable agriculture.

The team creatively explored topics such as the harmful impact of chemical-based farming, the need for environmentally responsible practices and the value of hands-on learning to nurture ecological awareness among young learners. Their work stood out as a thoughtful, innovative approach to building a sustainable future, the school said in a public note.

Inspiration to many students

Celebrating their achievement, CM Revanth congratulated the students for putting Telangana on the global map with their innovation and commitment to sustainability.

Reflecting on the success of the event, Minu Salooja, Director, Glendale International Schools, said, “This is a proud moment for the entire Glendale family. Our students have shown that when young minds are nurtured with the right values, they can drive meaningful change on a global stage. Their dedication, creativity and commitment to sustainability have set an example not only for their peers but also for the larger community. This achievement reinforces our belief that education must go beyond academics to empower students as responsible global citizens. Their success at an international platform like GED 2025 will inspire many more children to embrace innovation, environmental stewardship and the pursuit of excellence.”

Speaking about the win, student team member Nigama Penmetsa said, “This recognition motivates us to continue working for a greener tomorrow. We hope our project inspires more young people to take action for the planet.”

Glendale Academy—part of a global network of premier international schools under Global Schools Group (GSG) - an initiative of Global Schools Foundation (GSF), which has won over 650+ prestigious awards for providing quality education—said it remains committed to nurturing students who excel academically and contribute positively to society. Their success at Global Excellence Day 2025 reflects the school’s focus on fostering creativity, global awareness, and responsible citizenship among young learners.
