Hyderabad: Hyderabad Public School held its annual investiture ceremony on July 21 to recognise and honour its exceptional student leaders. The ceremony is extremely important because it instils a feeling of leadership and accountability in the student body.

The event was graced by chief guest Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari PVSM AVSM VM ADC, his spouse, Neetha Chaudhari, vice chairman of HPS Board of Governors R Raghuram Reddy, president of HPS Society Gusti Noria, and British deputy high commissioner Gareth Wynn Owen. A distinguished HPS alumnus, Lord Karan Bilimoria, a member of the House of Lords, was the guest of honour.

The school granted many leadership positions to worthy students at the event, including the student council head, house captains, prefects, and other significant duties. These roles enable students to set a good example, represent their peers, and make a constructive contribution to the school community.

Before marching down a hallway of prefectsā€™ and the different colour teams, the chief guest inspected the student troops of 152 NCC Cadets from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Girls' wings while the spectators looked on in awe.

The ceremony at The Hyderabad Public School goes beyond bestowing titles; it is a chance to encourage and develop societyā€™s future leaders. The head boy and head girl discussed their experiences and expressed their appreciation to the instructors, parents, and administration. The event provided an opportunity to recognise the studentsā€™ achievements, abilities, efforts, and devotion to the school, pushing them to continue succeeding and raising the bar for themselves.

Lord Bilimoria conveyed his best wishes to the students, saying, ā€œAs an alumnus of this esteemed institution, I learned that true leadership lies in empowering others, inspiring collective action, and striving for positive change. It is our responsibility to lead with honesty, empathy, and a vision that goes beyond individual goals. You can construct a brighter and more inclusive society wherever you go if you are guided by the principles established in us throughout our time at this amazing institution.ā€

ā€œThe world needs leaders who are compassionate, ethical, and visionary. Leadership is a process of constant learning and development. Never stop learning new things, honing your talents, and honing your leadership qualities,ā€ the Air Chief Marshal told the pupils.

ā€œOur investiture ceremony is a celebration of our studentsā€™ leadership, character, and limitless potential. This event inspires and enables students to continue making a good difference in our school and beyond. We are honoured to welcome Air Chief Marshal and Lord Karan Bilimoria to our investiture ceremony. Their outstanding accomplishments and dedication to leadership are exactly in line with the principles we try to teach our pupils. We feel their presence will motivate children to aim for the stars,ā€ Dr Skand Bali, principal of The Hyderabad Public School, said.

The schoolā€™s culture is interlaced with the ideals of integrity, discipline, empathy, and leadership. HPS reiterated its dedication to cultivating young minds, instilling strong values, and building leadership characteristics as it celebrated its 100-year-old empyreal tradition. The investiture event also saw the debut of the LEADER leadership program, which serves as a reminder of the schoolā€™s objective of preparing future leaders.

The ceremony was meant to conclude with a march past with students and horses. However, it was cancelled owing to the weather.
