Hyderabad: TMREIS alleges false propaganda against organisation, minority students
Hyderabad: The Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) Employees Association has alleged that ‘baseless propaganda’ is being spread to discredit the organisation and obstruct the educational and socio-economic progress of minority students.
At a press conference held at the Media Plus Auditorium on Monday, Association President Mohammed Mohsin, Vice President Dr Reshma Hussain and Joint Secretary Jameel Ahmed said that ‘certain vested interests were spreading misinformation to discredit TMREIS.’
Allegations of targeted campaigns
“Some opportunists, threatened by the success of TMREIS and the empowerment of minority students, are indulging in such campaigns. Their intention is to weaken the institution and curtail the development of the community,” the leaders said.
They appealed to parents and the general public not to pay heed to such claims.
“Protecting the institution’s reputation is vital for both its students and the educators who support them,” the Association leaders added.
The association acknowledged the contribution of Minority Welfare Minister A Lashman Kumar, TMREIS President Faheem Quraisi and Secretary Dr B Shafiullah for strengthening the institution.
Student achievements in professional education
The association highlighted the progress made by TMREIS students in competitive and professional examinations.
• In NEET 2025, nearly 20 students qualified for MBBS free seats.
• Six students secured admission in BDS.
• Five qualified for BBSE.
• In total, 104 students gained admission to MBBS and other professional courses, including 39 who earned free seats in medical streams.
Several students from vocational junior colleges under TMREIS have also secured placements in corporate hospitals across Telangana.
Role of Centres of Excellence
The association credited TMREIS Secretary, Dr B Shafiullah IFS, for setting up Centres of Excellence (CoEs) that provide intensive coaching, career counselling and institutional support.
“This initiative has enabled talented students to compete at the national level with confidence,” the leaders said.
Call for stronger institutional support
While acknowledging achievements, the Association urged additional measures to strengthen the institution’s impact.
They called for:
• Enhanced scholarships,
• Expanded preparatory programmes,
• Bridge courses to fill academic gaps
• Greater awareness among parents and students about opportunities in medicine, engineering and allied fields.
Reaffirming their stance, the leaders said: “Our students have demonstrated their capability. With the right support, they can contribute meaningfully to national development,” Mohsin stated.
