Hyderabad: Two MS Creative School students selected for 14th National Cuboree in Sri Lanka

Hyderabad: Two students from MS Creative School have been selected for the 14th National Cuboree organized by the Sri Lanka Scout Association.

Safwan Qureshi and Imtiaz Affan are the only Cubs chosen from Telangana for this international scouting event.

Event Details

The 14th National Cuboree will be held from August 15 to 17 in Anuradhapura, North Central Province, Sri Lanka. The event will take place at the Municipal Council Grounds and will host around 10,000 Cub Scouts from across Sri Lanka and nearly 1,000 international participants.

The Sri Lanka Scout Association has extended invitations to the Bharat Scouts and Guides as well as to other SAARC member countries, allowing selected Cubs from India to join in the activities.

Scouting Journey So Far

This marks the third major outing for students of MS Creative School in the current academic year. Their participation began with a local camp at The Bharat Scouts and Guides State Training Centre in Jeedimetla, followed by the Diamond Jubilee Jamboree in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, held from January 28 to February 3, 2025.

The Sri Lanka Cuboree will now be their first international scouting experience.

Activities and Learning Opportunities

During the Cuboree, Safwan and Imtiaz will take part in outdoor challenges, arena displays, cultural exchanges, community service, and heritage tours. The activities are designed to strengthen leadership skills, confidence, cultural awareness, and teamwork.

Both Cubs have expressed their eagerness to participate, while their parents have said they feel fortunate that their children are getting an opportunity to attend an international scouting event.
