India will not recognise educational degrees from Pak: AICTE, UGC

Any Indian national/overseas citizen of India who intends to take admission to any degree college/educational institution in Pakistan will no longer be eligible for seeking employment or higher studies in India on the basis of such educational qualifications (in any subject) acquired in Pakistan.

Hyderabad: The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Saturday announced that education degrees from Pakistan will no longer be recognised in Inda. They advised students not to travel to Pakistan to pursue higher education.

Any Indian national/overseas citizen of India who intends to take admission to any degree college/educational institution in Pakistan will no longer be eligible for seeking employment or higher studies in India on the basis of such educational qualifications (in any subject) acquired in Pakistan.

However, migrants and their children who have acquired higher education degrees in Pakistan and have been awarded citizenship by India will be eligible to seek employment in India after obtaining security clearance from the ministry of Home Affairs, they said.
