Amaravati: Minister for Education, Information Technology (IT) and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, on Friday called upon everyone to participate in large numbers in the parents and teachers mega meet being organised on December 7 to make it a tremendous success beyond political considerations.

The meeting will stand as a navigation for strengthening the schools, enlightenment of students and resolving all issues that are plaguing the academic sector, Nara Lokesh said in an open letter to the public. The minister for Education is confident that the meeting will certainly build a bridge among the teachers, students and their parents.

ā€œFor the first time in the country, we have decided to organise the parents and teachers meeting across the State on December 7 in a festive atmosphere. My appeal to all the public representatives from ward members to Members of Parliament, from sarpanches to the chief minister is that everyone should take part in the meeting beyond any political considerations,ā€ Lokesh said.

Chance for parents to understand their children

The parents can easily perceive the standard of education, the conduct and the discipline of their children through this meeting, he felt. The parents can know their childrenā€™s problems, learning abilities, and interests in sports and arts which can be brought to the notice of the teachers to encourage them to further develop in the respective fields, he added.

ā€˜Donā€™t carry political flagsā€™

Stating that the aim of the State Government is keeping the academic system away from politics and bringing the students along with their parents closer to the system, Lokesh said and made an appeal to the public representatives who are attending the meeting not to carry their respective political flags or scarves.

ā€œAlso, my hearty welcome to all the donors, the alumni who have contributed to the progress of their respective schools and the voluntary organisations to become partners in this parent-teacher meet,ā€ Nara Lokesh said.
