Mega DSC-2025: 15,941 teachers get appointment orders, 97.5% posts filled

Amaravati: The Government of Andhra Pradesh issued appointment orders to 15,941 newly selected teachers under Mega DSC-2025, concluding one of the State’s largest and most transparent teacher recruitments with a 97.52 per cent fill of 16,347 notified posts and reporting dates beginning October 2025, the government said.
Speaking on the occasion to give the appointment letters to the successful meritorious candidates, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said, “The Mega DSC proves that recruitment can be fast, fair and future-focused–20 per cent TET, 80 per cent CBT, zero interviews and strong reservations delivered inclusively and on time.”
Merit-based selection
The recruitment followed a strict merit formula with 20 per cent weightage to TET and 80 per cent to DSC Computer-Based Test scores, with no interview or demonstration, ensuring objectivity and uniform standards across all managements and districts.
A total of 16,347 posts were notified and 15,941 posts were filled across Government, ZP/MPP, Municipal, Social Welfare, BC Welfare, Tribal Welfare, Model Schools, Residential and Welfare institutions, delivering statewide coverage at 97.52 per cent.
Applicant gender balance and district-wise performance
From 5,77,721 applications representing 3,36,307 unique candidates, 15,941 meritorious candidates were selected, with women constituting 49.90 per cent of appointees and districts such as Krishna and Guntur crossing 57 per cent female representation among selected candidates.
Districts recorded near-complete fills, including Visakhapatnam at 99.56 per cent, East Godavari at 99.70 per cent, Krishna at 99.18 per cent and West Godavari at 98.98 per cent, while Kurnool registered the highest absolute selections with 2,590 appointments.
Inclusive reservations
Selection complied with dual-tier reservations: Vertical reservations of 15 per cent for SC, 6 per cent for ST, and 29 per cent for BC; and horizontal reservations of 33.33 per cent for women, 4 per cent for Persons with Disabilities, 2 per cent for ex-servicemen, and 3 per cent for sportspersons with 421 earmarked posts.
Appointments span key roles, including 6,420 Secondary Grade Teachers, 7,345 School Assistants, 1,688 Trained Graduate Teachers, 250 Post Graduate Teachers, 50 Principals, 177 Physical Education Teachers, and 11 Physical Directors, aligning manpower with instructional and leadership needs.
Induction training will equip appointees with effective pedagogy, school processes and digital proficiency, with directives on accountability, community linkage, individualised support and alignment with the Swarn Andhra 2047 vision for future-ready classrooms.
Swift, transparent completion
Despite over 150 court cases, the process was completed within 150 days and supported by a dedicated grievance redressal mechanism that resolved 7,381 calls covering qualification, application edits, user ID/duplicate issues and TET-related queries.
Background and legacy
Mega DSC–2025 was greenlit with the Chief Minister’s first official signature on June 13, 2024; since 1994, DSC cycles have cumulatively filled 2,69,001 general recruitment posts in Andhra Pradesh, with this drive adding 15,941 appointments to strengthen public education.
