Amaravati: Stating that the education system should be beyond political ambitions, Nara Lokesh, the minister for Education, Information Technology (IT) and Electronics, released the academic calendar 2024-25 on Monday.

Unlike in the past, the calendar did not have a photo of the chief minister or any other minister in the current Cabinet.

The academic calendar contained the details of the year-long academic procedures from primary classes to higher classes.




The calendar contained information about school time, exam timetables divided subject-wise and timetable of the classes school for special education and exam schedule.




After holding a review meeting with the senior officers of the school education at his Vundavalli residence in Amaravati, the minister said that any political interference with regard to the government educational institutions will not be tolerated.



Lokesh also made it clear that even the books to be supplied to the teachers and the students as part of training should not carry the messages, photos and the colours of the political outfits.

The minister for education made it clear that since the term of the school management committees has ended by July the elections to these panels will be conducted in August. The supervisory responsibilities of the quality of mid-day meals and improving the basic amenities on the campuses of the educational institutions should be handed over to the parent committees, he said.

Lokesh said he is very particular about improving the maintenance of toilets in government schools and directed the officials to immediately call for tenders for the supply of necessary chemicals and other materials.

The minister, who conducted a lengthy review of the style of functioning of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in the State, said that a fresh route map will soon be announced for these institutions.
