NiMSME Hyderabad introduces novel MBA course on MSME management
This is a first-of-its-kind that provides a judicious blend of hands-on experience and exposure to MSME functioning in line with the National Education Policy 2020

Hyderabad: A unique MBA course on MSME management has been developed by the National Institute for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (NiMSME), Hyderabad and ASBM University, Bhubaneswar.
This is a first-of-its-kind that provides a judicious blend of hands-on experience and exposure to MSME functioning in line with the National Education Policy 2020 which will be delivered by NiMSME, Hyderabad and ASBM University. The course will begin in the academic session of 2023.
Addressing the media, Dr Glory Swarupa, the director general of NiMSME said this new MBA programme has been designed to meet the requirement of trained personnel in the growing MSME sector.
“Micro, small, and medium enterprises currently employ around 50 million people accounting for 8% of the country’s GDP, 45% of the manufacturing production, and 40% of the exports playing a prominent role in the development of the economy in the coming days. Such enterprises will have a huge requirement of management personnel to run these organisations and this MBA in MSME management intends not only to promote entrepreneurship among the youth but also create entrepreneurs,” she said.
Who are eligible?
Any graduate with 50% of marks with a valid CAT, XAT, MAT, and ASBMU entrance test score can apply for admission to this programme.
The selected students will be provided education loan under the Star Vidya National Scheme by Bank of India for which the bank has already recognised ASBM University.
Fully residential programme where students of MBA-MSME programme will study their first-year courses (2 semesters) at ASBM University in Bhubaneswar and the second year (2 more semesters) at NiMSME in Hyderabad mastering their professional competency through expert classroom exposure and professional hands-on experience.
The duration of the course is two years, and the fees for the entire programme comes to Rs 6,50,000 which includes tuition fee and residential fee. The entire fee can be paid in four interest-free instalments.
