Hyderabad: Osmania University on Thursday announced the promotion of 52 dedicated non-teaching staff members. The university, in a public statement, said that the promotions were given following a thorough and due process based on the recommendations of a rigorous selection committee. The employees have been promoted from attenders to lab attendants.
Prof. Kumar Molugaram, the vice-chancellor of Osmania University, officially accorded approval for these crucial appointments. Promotion orders were formally handed over to the elated staff members in a special event held at the historic Senate Hall within the Osmania University Administration Building.
The newly promoted staff members expressed their profound gratitude, highlighting the positive impact of these promotions on their professional journeys and personal lives. āThis initiative not only recognises the hard work and dedication of these individuals but also strengthens the operational backbone of the university, ensuring continued excellence in its academic and administrative functions,ā the university said.
Osmania University honoured with prestigious ACE Award 2025
Osmania University also announced it has been selected for the esteemed ACE Award 2025 in the āEducation in Circular Economyā category by the International Council for Circular Economy (ICEF).
This prestigious recognition celebrates Osmania Universityās pioneering efforts in embedding circular economy principles within higher education, preparing students for a sustainable future.
The ICEF lauded Osmania Universityās forward-thinking approach in curriculum design, interdisciplinary research and comprehensive circular knowledge dissemination. The universityās commitment to fostering a strong foundation for sustainability-led careers and innovation was specifically highlighted.

OU Mahalakshmi Biogas Plant powers the womenās hostel
Osmania University said its initiatives extend beyond the classroom, demonstrating practical applications of circular economy principles.
A prime example is the successful installation of the OU Mahalakshmi Biogas Plant. This innovative facility has a two-ton per day capacity, converting food waste and organic materials into biogas, which now powers an entire kitchen in the Womenās Hostel. The resulting slurry is also repurposed as valuable fertiliser for the university gardens, creating a closed-loop system.
The ACE Award 2025 ceremony will take place at Hotel Radisson, Gurugram, on July 31.
