Hyderabad: A complaint has filed with University Grant Commission against Osmania University for not setting up Student Grievance Redressal Committee.

Complainant Vijay Gopal said that the University did not constitute the University Student Grievance Redressal Committee (USGRC) as per the UGC Grievance Redressal Regulations, 2012.

The official website of the University also does not have the option for the students to submit their complaints.

According to UGC rules, the university is required to have an Ombudsman appointed and upload details on the website. Under rules, Student Grievance Redressal Committee is mandatory.

"The ombudsperson appointment has also not been confirmed by the University as the website does not show any such details. Both the omissions are in clear violation of Regulations 9 of UGC (Grievance Redressal) Regulations, 2019," said Vijay Gopal in his complaint.

The complainant also requested the UGC to withdraw any grants the university is receiving and take appropriate action as deemed fit and share the action taken report.
