Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has discussed her concerns about the proposed Telangana Universities Common Recruitment Board (TUCRB) with the Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and other officials.

The Governor has conveyed her concerns in the larger interest of the public and the aspirants belonging to the Telangana during her meeting with the Education Minister and other officials, who called on her at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Thursday.

Some of the key issues conveyed by the Governor to the minister included the need for total transparency in the recruitment process through the board, taking up recruitment as early as possible in an unbiased manner, maintaining eligibility-based recruitment, strictly following the UGC norms with regard to the recruitment of the faculty, and addressing the concerns of the aspirants from the Telangana.

Besides these issues relating to the common recruitment board, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has also advised the minister and the officials to give top priority to improving the infrastructure in the state universities with a special focus on improving the hostel and laboratory facilities.

"The library facilities and the digital resources need to be improved in the universities for the benefit of the students on a priority basis," she added.

The Governor also suggested the Education Minister and other officials strengthen the Chancellor Connects Alumni in all the universities for promoting the participation of the alumni for the all-round development of the universities.

The Minister accompanied by Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman Prof. R. Limbadri, Commissioner Collegiate Education Navin Mittal, and Education Secretary Vakati Karuna called on the Governor and discussed the issues related to the TS Universities Common Recruitment Board as advised by Governor.
