Satavahana University to start three-year LLB course in Karimnagar; BCI grants affiliation

Telangana: Telangana's Satavahana University will soon start a three-year LLB programme in Karimnagar.
Bar Council of India (BCI) has granted affiliation to the College of Law, Satavahana University, Karimnagar, for its three-year LLB programme (2025-2027).
The college will have two sections of 60 seats each, with upgraded faculty strength, smart classrooms, a modern library with e-journals, and smart infrastructure as per BCI norms.
Rs 22.96 crore was also sanctioned for the development of the law college.
In a post on X, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for strengthening legal education in Telangana. This move ensures enhanced quality, transparency, and better opportunities for future legal professionals.

According to BCI, the Standing Committee of Legal Education Committee of BCI in its meeting held on April 10 considered the compliance report received from Registrar, Satavahana University, Telangana along with other documents and affidavit in response to the show-cause notice.
The Compliance report has considered by the Standing Committee. The C.L.E. has applied for fresh approval of affiliation for imparting three year LLE with intake of two sections of 60 students in each section. After consideration, fresh approval of affiliation bo granted to Univorsity Collego of Law, in Telangana for imparting three year LLB.
It may be noted that in March, the state government sanctioned two new colleges, including Engineering and Law College, to Satavahana University. In this regard, GO No.. 18 and 19 were issued on March 24, 2025, to operate both the colleges from the academic year 2025-26.
