Hyderabad: The Telangana government has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with six nationally and internationally recognized non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to introduce cutting-edge technology and specialized training programs in government schools across the state.
The initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, aims to enhance learning outcomes, boost digital education, and prepare students for national-level competitive exams like NEET, JEE, and CLAT, all at no cost to students.
Leading NGOs to deliver specialized education services
The MoUs were signed with six prominent NGOs, including EkStep Foundation (led by Nandan Nilekani), Prajwala Foundation (headed by Dr. Sunitha Krishnan), Physics Wallah (founded by Alakh Pandey), Khan Academy, Pi Jam Foundation (led by Shoaib Dar), and Educate Girls (founded by Safina Hussain)
These organizations will support the state in improving education through AI-based learning platforms, STEM video content, competitive exam coaching, coding and computational thinking, child protection programs, and girl child enrollment drives.
Scope of the partnership
EkStep Foundation will expand its services from 540 schools to over 5,000 primary schools in all 33 districts. The platform uses AI to teach English, Telugu, and basic Mathematics to students from Classes 3 to 5.
Physics Wallah will offer free coaching for competitive exams such as NEET, JEE, and CLAT for Intermediate students, and also extend preparatory content to high school students.
Khan Academy will provide video-based STEM education aligned with the curriculum for students from Classes 6 to 10. Prajwala Foundation will implement child safety and protection awareness programs for students between Classes 6 and 12 across the state.
Pi Jam Foundation will train students in coding and computational skills from Class 1 through Class 10, fostering digital literacy at an early age. Educate Girls will work to enroll over 16,000 out-of-school children, with a focus on improving literacy and educational access for girls.
Vision for educational reform
The partnerships reflect Chief Minister Revanth Reddyās commitment to revamping Telanganaās public education system by integrating the best of technology, teaching methods, and social support systems.
A Model for the Nation
With this collaborative approach, Telangana positions itself at the forefront of educational reform in India. The government believes this effort will set a benchmark for other states seeking to improve public education through strategic partnerships and digital innovation.
According to state officials, the NGOs were drawn to the governmentās progressive welfare and development agenda, leading them to voluntarily partner in this ambitious project.
