Hyderabad: Girls outperform boys once again in Telangana Inter exams
Hyderabad: Girls once again dominated the Telangana Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) 2026 results, outperforming boys by a significant margin in both first and second-year exams.
The results, announced on Sunday by government advisor K Keshava Rao and Education Secretary Yogita Rana, also showed a marginal improvement in overall pass percentages compared to last year.
Girls lead across both years
The gender-wise performance highlights a consistent trend of girls securing higher pass percentages:
First Year:
Girls – 74.40%
Boys – 57.69%
Second Year:
Girls – 78.65%
Boys – 62.50%
Officials noted that this trend has been continuing over the years, reflecting stronger academic outcomes among female students.
Overall pass percentage
The Telangana State recorded steady results this year:
First Year Pass Percentage: 66.20%
Second Year Pass Percentage: 70.58%
Student attendance and results
A large number of students appeared for the exams
First Year:
Appeared: 4,89,123
Passed: 3,23,807
Second Year:
Appeared: 5,07,948
Passed: 3,58,490
Improvement over last year
Compared to 2025, there has been a slight rise in pass percentages:
First Year: 66.91% (2025) → 66.94% (2026)
Second Year: 72.43% (2025) → 75.61% (2026)
When is recounting and reverification?
Students seeking re-evaluation can apply between: April 13 and April 20
Supplementary exams schedule
The board has also released dates for advanced supplementary exams: Fee Payment: April 13 to April 20
Exams Begin: May 13 (in two sessions daily)
Practical exams dates
Start Date: May 22
