TGSCHE issues legal notice to 4 engineering colleges for operating without approval
Hyderabad: Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGSCHE) has initiated legal proceedings against four engineering colleges for operating without official approval.
TGSCHE Chairman B Kista Reddy said the institutions have been served legal notices and instructed to respond by June 13, failing which further action will be taken.
Warning to students and parents
In an official statement issued here, Reddy urged students and parents to be vigilant during the upcoming admission season. āBefore enrolling in any college, please ensure it is recognized by the appropriate authorities. Unauthorized institutions will not be tolerated,ā he stated.
Engineering counseling begins in July
The development comes as Telangana gears up to begin its engineering counseling process in the first week of July, with classes scheduled to commence by August 14. Reddy clarified that the stateās counseling can only begin after the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) counseling concludes at the national level.
No clarity yet on B-Category seats
Addressing ongoing concerns regarding B-category seats, Reddy noted that the issue remains under the consideration of the state government. He cautioned parents against making advance payments until official guidelines are issued.
Deemed universities matter in Court
He also commented on the legal status of deemed universities, pointing out that the matter is currently pending in court, and a final decision will depend on the outcome of judicial proceedings.
Push for Higher Education Reforms Bill
Stressing the need for comprehensive reforms, Reddy reiterated the councilās appeal to the state government to introduce the Telangana Higher Education Reforms Bill. The proposed legislation aims to strengthen governance, enhance transparency, and enforce stricter regulatory standards across higher education institutions.
Monitoring of coaching centers on the cards
Additionally, the TGSCHE chairman announced plans to implement monitoring mechanisms for private coaching centers, emphasizing that tighter oversight is essential to protect students from exploitation and ensure quality education services.
