TS Parents Association demands more Kendriya Vidyalayas in the state

Hyderabad: The Telangana Parents' Association (TPA) has urged the Centre to set up more Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across the country and state.

The TPA said additional KVs will help enroll more students, especially those from poor families.

On Thursday, KV announced that it was putting on hold admissions under the MP quota and other special admissions in its institutes. Earlier, as per the special provisions, an MP could recommend 10 special students for any KV across the country.

The TPA appreciated this move and said the latest decision will reduce the number of admissions in schools from 500 to 300 students per school. It requested KV to recognise its responsibility in providing further educational opportunities.
