UoH releases PMRF selection list; each fellow to get Rs 70k per month
Each fellow under the PMRF scheme will initially receive a monthly fellowship of Rs. 70,000, which may increase to Rs. 80,000 towards the end of the Ph.D. programme based on the performance.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 28 Oct 2021 2:54 AM GMTHyderabad: University of Hyderabad (UoH) on Wednesday released the list of Ph.D. scholars selected for fellowship under the May 2021 lateral entry channel of the Prime Minister's Research Fellows (PMRF) scheme.
UoH Vice-Chancellor Prof. B. J. Rao congratulated the PMRF fellows and hoped that they would bring laurels to the University by their high achievements in research.
Akurathi Jaya Naga Sri from School of Mathematics and Statistics, Sumi Rana from School of Life Sciences, Tanishka from School of Life Sciences, Amrita Arpita Padhy from School of Life Sciences, Jakkula Pranay from School of Life Sciences, Nitin Chaudhary from School of Physics, Priya Mishra from School of Physics, Papia Panda from School of Physics, Archana S from School of Physics, Prasenjit Jana from School of Physics, Somnath Das from School of Physics, Sangoji Dheeraj from School of Chemistry and Fathima Ali K from School of Engineering Sciences and Technology have been awarded PMRF fellowship.
The National Coordination Committee (NCC) of the PMRF scheme made the selection of the students. Each fellow under the PMRF scheme will initially receive a monthly fellowship of Rs. 70,000, which may increase to Rs. 80,000 towards the end of the Ph.D. programme based on the performance.
Apart from this, each fellow would be eligible for a Rs. 2 lakh research grant per year. UoH was allotted 18 PMRF fellowships (14 lateral entry channels and 4 direct entry channel fellowships) for 2021. Against the 14 lateral entry channel fellowships, 13 were selected by the NCC of the PMRF scheme. UoH now has 32 PMRF fellows.
