UoH Scholar selected as Assam Civil Service officer

Bruhid Rabha, pursuing PhD in the School of Economics at the University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been selected as the Assam Civil Service (ACS) officer of the Assam Public Service Commission.

UoH Scholar selected as Assam Civil Service officer

Hyderabad: Bruhid Rabha, pursuing PhD in the School of Economics at the University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been selected as the Assam Civil Service (ACS) officer of the Assam Public Service Commission. The results for this 2018 batch were declared on 24 December. His merit rank stands at 48 among a total of 135 successful civil service candidates in Assam. Currently, with the UGC fellowship, he has been writing a thesis on the socio-economic and environmental impact of natural rubber plantation with special reference to Assam's Economy under the supervision of Professor Phanindra Goyari of School of Economics.

Bruhid hails from a remote village of Bathan Para in Goalpara district of Assam. Currently, his family is dependent on agricultural farming. Bruhid has been a brilliant student since his school days. He obtained his BA Economic (Major) degree from the Cotton University in Guwahati in 2012 and an MA degree in Economics from the University of Hyderabad in 2016. He obtained his MPhil degree in Economics in 2016 under the supervision of Prof Phanindra Goyari. He has attended and presented many research papers at national and international conferences.

As an ACS officer in the state of Assam, Bruhid is looking forward to work and contribute towards the welfare and overall development of the society.
