The film was announced almost three years ago and was titled 'Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh'. But since then, there had been no progress as Pawan Kalyan was busy with politics. Finally, the film is all set to go on the floors, but this time, the title has been changed to 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh'.
There have been a lot of speculations about the project. As per sources, the film is a remake of the Tamil film 'Theri'. The director is said to have taken the same line as 'Theri' but chose to write an entirely different story. But neither the director nor the film's producers have given an official statement confirming this.
Pawan Kalyan is expected to play a police officer in the film. The poster contains the lines "This time, it's not just Entertainment" and "Manalni Evadra Aapedi." Ayananka Bose is the cinematographer for the film and Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music.
Pawan's last two films 'Vakeel Saab' and 'Bheemla Nayak' were also remakes. The first was a remake of the Hindi film 'Pink' and the second a remake of the Malayalam film 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum'. So, fans are least interested in watching another remake from Pawan.
Besides this film, Pawan will be seen in 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' which will release in theaters next year. He is said to have given a nod to a film with 'Saaho' director Sujeeth as well. An official confirmation is awaited.
