Hyderabad: Anushka Shetty turned 40 on Sunday and on the occasion of her birthday, the actor announced her next film.
The 'Baahubali' actress took to Twitter to share the news and wrote, "With all the birthday wishes, love that is being cherished upon, I am happy to announce my next movie to you all. My next is with Director #MaheshBabuP #UVcreations. Smile Always, Always Forever (sic)."
Anushka has been part of two films produced by UV Creations. She played the leading lady in their first film 'Mirchi' opposite Prabhas in 2013. In 2018, she played the lead in 'Bhaagamathie' directed by Ashok. Later, the same film was remade in Bollywood as well.
Now, Anushka is scoring a hattrick with the production house UV Creations. For the new film, she has teamed up with director Mahesh Babu P for a new-age entertainer along with Naveen Polishetty of the 'Jathiratnalu' fame. According to sources, Naveen Polishetty plays a young man who falls in love with an older woman played by Anushka. The story revolves around their age gap and the circumstances they face.
The filmmakers released a short video to announce that the shoot will begin soon. Anushka is said to have undergone a transformation for this film and fans are quite excited to know more.
Anushka was last seen in the multilingual horror-thriller 'Nishabdam' directed by Hemant Madhukar with Madhavan as the other lead. The film released on Amazon Prime Video last year during the lockdown. Anushka has announced her next project almost after a year-and-a-half.
