Bramayugam: At 72, Mammootty signs pan India horror thriller

Mammootty's new film `Bramayugam’ has gone on floors. It is the first project from Night Shift Studios, a production company focused on horror-thriller films.

Founded by Chakravarthy Ramachandra, Night Shift Studios specializes in producing films within the horror-thriller genre. Bramayugam is a Malayalam feature starring Mammootty, directed and written by Rahul Sadasivan.

Rahul Sadasivan expressed his excitement about directing Mammootty. He described Bramayugam as a story set in the historical dark ages of Kerala. He highlighted the immersive experience that the producers are striving to create and hopes it will be enjoyed by fans of Mammootty and horror enthusiasts worldwide. Producers Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth shared their honor and enthusiasm about having Mammootty in their debut production.

They praised Mammootty's iconic presence and how it will contribute to the cinematic excellence of Bramayugam. They also commended director Rahul's vision and the dedicated cast and crew. Night Shift Studios was established as a collaboration between Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth, with a mutual passion for horror films stemming from their experience in the industry.

Their aim is to present indigenous horror-thriller films to a global audience. Chakravarthy Ramachandra, the founder of Night Shift Studios, was a producer for over ten years before joining YNOT Studios in 2016. S Sashikanth, the founder and producer of YNOT Studios, is also a partner in this venture. Their combined experience has led to the creation of successful films over the past seven years.

This movie is currently being filmed on an elaborate scale in Kochi and Ottapalam. The movie features actors Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz in prominent roles. Shehnad Jalal is the cinematographer, Jothish Shankar is the production designer, Shafique Mohammed Ali is the editor, and Christo Xavier is composing the music.

The dialogues are penned by TD Ramakrishnan, makeup is by Ronex Xavier, and costumes are designed by Melwy J. Presented by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, Bramayugam is scheduled to release worldwide in early 2024. It will be available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages simultaneously.
