Cannes Film Festival: Shafi nominated for best actor award for '3:15 AM'
Telugu actor Shafi has been nominated for the best actor award at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

Hyderabad: Popular Telugu actor Shafi, known for films like Khadgam, Chatrapati, and Khaleja, has been nominated for the Best Actor award at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The actor has been nominated for best actor for his short film '3:15 AM'.
The Hindi short film has also been nominated for Best Editing and Best Direction. Amil Prasad has been nominated for best editor and Amit Raj Verma for best director. Earlier, the movie won the Best Thriller Film award at the Los Angeles Film Festival 2023.
A short film by Genda Phool productions, '3:15 AM' has been directed by Amit Raj Verma. It revolves around two characters, a wife and a husband, and a guest character. What goes on between a wife and husband is only known to them.
The short film will be premiered at the film .
Sharing his moment on Instagram, Shafi said, "Thrilled to announce that I've been nominated for Best Actor at the prestigious Cannes World Film Festival! It's an incredible honor to be recognized among such talented actors and in a festival known for its celebration of the art of cinema",
Speaking to News Meter, Shafi said, "Director Amit Varma is a good friend of mine, and when he asked me to do this short film, I haven't had any second thoughts. Though it is a short film, for me, it's a big project".
Shafi's debut Telugu film Khadgam directed by Krishna Vamsi in 2002, won Filmfare Award for Best Villain. Shafi has become famous for acting in the films Chatrapathi, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, and Khaleja, directed by Trivikram Srinivas.
Shafi is now working on his upcoming film 'Devil' starring Nandmuri Kalyana Ram. The action drama written by Srikanth Vissa and directed by Naveen Medaram comes under Abhishek Pictures Banner.
