Hyderabad: Christmas weekend is set to turn into a cinematic celebration, with theatres gearing up for one of the busiest release windows of the year.

On December 25, many Indian and international films across multiple languages are slated to hit the big screen, offering moviegoers a wide range of genres—from action and romance to fantasy and thrillers.

Champion :

Marking the debut of Roshan Meka, son of Tollywood actor Srikanth, Champion is a period sports drama set in pre-Independence Secunderabad. Directed by Pradeep Advaitham, the film follows a talented footballer whose dream of moving to London is derailed by unexpected events.

Starring Roshan Meka and Anaswara Rajan, the film explores themes of ambition, identity, and transformation.

Anaconda (2025) :

Hollywood’s Anaconda returns with a fresh, comedic twist. Starring Paul Rudd and Jack Black, the film departs from the dark tone of the 1997 cult classic.

Directed by Tom Gormican, it revolves around two middle-aged friends attempting to make a self-funded film in the Amazon, only to find themselves in a life-threatening situation when a real giant snake enters the picture. The film blends satire, meta-humour, and survival drama.

Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri :

This Hindi romantic drama stars Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in the lead roles and is directed by Sameer Vidwans.

The film traces the emotional journey of two individuals who discover love while navigating personal growth, only to face resistance shaped by family expectations. The narrative centres on love tested by circumstances and societal pressures.

Shambala :

Aadi Saikumar’s Shambhala, directed by Ugandhar Muni, is a visually rich supernatural drama that promises mystery and intrigue.

Also featuring Archana Iyer and Swasika Vijay, the film is set against the backdrop of a Tibetan Himalayan village where polyandry is practiced. Aadi Saikumar plays a scientist who embarks on a quest that challenges his understanding of spirituality and reality.

Vrusshabha :

Written and directed by Nanda Kishore, Vrusshabha is a Malayalam fantasy action drama featuring Mohanlal in the titular role.

The film moves between an ancient monarchy and the present day, weaving a story rooted in sacrifice, destiny, and legacy. The cast also includes Samarjit Lankesh, Nayan Sarika, Ragini Dwivedi, Ajay, and Neha Saxena.

Gurram Paapi Reddy :

This Telugu comedy crime drama stars Faria Abdullah, Naresh Agastya, and Rajiv Kumar Aneja. The story revolves around a mysterious conman who hires three individuals to exhume and exchange a corpse. As the plan unfolds, the trio realises the job is far more complicated than it appeared, leading to unexpected twists and conflicts.

Sarvam Maya :

Starring Nivin Pauly, this Malayalam film tells the story of a young Hindu priest whose life takes a dramatic turn after encountering a ghost. What begins as a strange and unsettling experience evolves into a journey that challenges his faith, beliefs, and sense of purpose.

With such a diverse lineup, the Christmas 2025 weekend promises to be a festive treat for movie lovers across languages and genres.
