Chiranjeevi to Vijay Deverakonda: How Tollywood reacted to `JanaNayagan' leak
Hyderabad: A leaked clip of Vijay Thalapathy’s highly anticipated political drama `JanaNayagan’ has sent shockwaves across the South Indian film industry.
The unauthorized leak has triggered a powerful wave of condemnation from Tollywood’s top stars.
Backed by KVN Productions, JanaNayagan has been in the spotlight for its ambitious scale and high-profile collaboration. However, the project recently faced a severe setback when raw, unreleased footage and key sequences were illicitly disseminated online.
"The unfortunate leak of JanaNayagan is something that deeply concerns me," stated Chiranjeevi, a senior actor. "Cinema is built on trust, effort, and the collective dreams of many. Such incidents remind us how crucial it is to protect our creative work. We stand as one with KVN Productions in containing the damage and punishing the culprits. Kill Piracy. Save Cinema," he further added.
For many actors, the issue is deeply personal. Vijay Deverakonda, who has navigated the fallout of similar leaks in his own career, voiced his frustration over the vulnerability of production teams.
“The JanaNayagan leak makes me angry,” Deverakonda shared on social media. “I’ve experienced the pain and sense of loss when this happens. You feel like a target. It’s not just about one person; there are co-actors, directors, and producers who have all their dreams on the line.” He further warned that failing to identify those responsible would reflect a "systemic failure" within the industry.
Actor Varun Tej echoed these sentiments, framing the incident as a criminal betrayal rather than a digital mishap. “Leaking unreleased content is not entertainment; it’s outright theft and a complete betrayal of the hard work and trust of an entire team,” Tej wrote. He urged fans to reject such "cowardly acts," stressing that there must be tangible consequences for those who orchestrate these leaks.
