Hyderabad: It is Samantha’s name that immediately comes to mind when someone mentions the top heroine in the south film industry. This beauty has captured everyone’s hearts with her acting and her beauty. The actress who is suffering from myositis is taking things slow when it comes to movies.

For her upcoming movie ‘Shakuntalam,’ Samantha has done a unique thing. For her role, she wore a saree that weighed around 30 kg for more than a week. Not many heroines would wear such a heavy saree for a role.

Not only that, the producers have made jewellery worth around Rs. 3 crores for Samantha’s character. Director Gunasekhar said has Samantha worked very hard for the film while wearing such a heavy saree and huge jewellery.

What next for the actress?

Samantha has proved she is a good performer by choosing different roles. She will soon start shooting for her next with Vijay Deverakonda. After completing the first schedule in Kashmir about eight months ago, the shooting is yet to resume.

Samantha is currently awaiting the release of ‘Shakunthalam.’ Recently, she completed the post-production work of the film and started shooting for her next project in Mumbai. Samantha is working on a web series called ‘Citadel’ with Varun Dhawan. It is directed by Raj and DK. ‘Citadel’ is the Indian version of the series (of the same name) created by the Russo Brothers.

Fans shocked by her decision

Samantha’s decision to work on ‘Citadel’ has shocked fans as she was set to start work on ‘Kushi.’ When Vijay Devarakonda’s fans asked about the status of Kushi, Samantha replied the shoot will resume soon. In any case, even though Samantha is busy, directors and producers are signing her for back-to-back films. Her recent flick ‘Yashoda’ was a blockbuster hit.
