Hyderabad: Director Shankar needs no introduction. He is one of the most bankable directors in India and is known for his extravagant filmmaking style. The director is currently busy with Indian 2, a Kamal Haasan starrer.

The director, who recently announced his collaboration with Ram Charan Tej for a pan Indian film, is likely to collaborate with actor Ranveer Singh for a Bollywood flick.

It is reported that Shankar will direct Ranveer for a Hindi movie and the script has been locked from both ends. If everything goes per plan, an official announcement will be made soon. Shankar is looking forward to working on this film before he starts working on Ram Charan's flick.

Shankar made his directorial debut in Bollywood with Nayak, which is a Hindi remake of the Tamil film, Mudhalvan. This was back in 2001 and now he is carefully planning his re-entry into Bollywood.

It is reported that Ranveer's team, when in Chennai, approached Shankar's team some time ago and the actor is said to have met the director to check whether they can collaborate for a film.

However, since the script resembled Anniyan and the production house that distributed the movie in 2005 didn't give a clearance, the script had to be dropped.

Shankar was all praise for Ranveer for his performance in Padmaavat. He even tweeted appreciating the actor.
