A still from Das Ka Dhamki.

Hyderabad: Vishwak Sen starrer 'Das Ka Dhamki' hit the screens on the occasion of Ugadi. It has a good opening day collection. Nivetha Pethuraj is playing a leading lady in the movie.

Here is the review:

Story:

Krishna Das (Vishwak Sen) is a waiter at one of the five-star hotels in Hyderabad. He meets Keethi (Nivetha Pethuraj) at one of the parties he attends and they fall in love. Das pretends to be a rich guy as he is head over heels for Keerthi. But soon, Keerthi comes to know that Das has been lying to her by posing as Dr. Sanjay Rudra Raju, CEO of a pharmaceutical company. One day, Das is approached by a board member of the same pharmaceutical company asking him to step into shoes of Sanjay and save the company from shutting down. Das needs money. Did Das fall into a trap here? Where is Sanjay? What happened to him? How is Das going to save himself from everything that is happening around him? The story revolves around these puzzles.

Analysis:

This film is more like old wine in a new bottle. Vishwak Sen wanted a hit with a mass entertainer and he managed to do that well. The story of the film is written by Prasanna Bezawada. The plot is not something new. It is something we all have been watching for ages. But what makes the story different and better is the humor, Vishwak's performance, and Leon James's music.

The production qualities of the film are high and rich. Vishwak's father Karate Raju himself is the producer and he splurged money into making this film look nothing less than grandeur.

Performances:

Vishwak Sen has performed well in dual roles. Like Das and Sanjay, he has shown variations well. With the previous films he has been part of, the actor proved his mettle as an actor and with Das Ka Dhamki, he aced his performance and proved that he has matured a lot in acting.

Nivetha Pethuraj has also given a good performance. The actress did a good job and poured a heavy dose of glamour into the film. Adi and Mahesh, who played besties of Das, have done a great job of generating a good dose of humor in the film. Rao Ramesh was up to the mark. Tharun Bhascker's cameo was a delight to the eye.

Verdict:

In the first and second halves, there is a certain amount of unnecessary lag in the story and that might piss you off in the middle by bringing boredom for a few minutes. But otherwise, Das Ka Dhamki is a must-watch this weekend for a laughter riot.
