Exclusive: After shelving Gowtan Tinnanuris film, Ram Charan likely to work with Lokesh Kanagaraj

Hyderabad: Actor Ram Charan Tej is currently not shooting but prepping for his next film. Following the success of 'RRR', Charan was seen alongside his father Megastar Chiranjeevi in 'Acharya'. But after the film bombed at the box office, the actor started focusing on his next film directed by Shankar.

Director Shankar quit Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' in the middle of the shoot for various reasons and following a tiff with the makers. He took up RC15 with Ram Charan and started shooting. Almost four extensive schedules of the film have already been completed. But Shankar went back to 'Indian 2' and kept RC15 on hold.

Currently, Charan is working on his upcoming films and scripts. His project with 'Jersey' director Gowtam Tinnanuri with UV Creations was announced a couple of years ago and the film was set to go on the floors this month as per plans. But now, according to sources, the project has been shelved as Charan is not interested in it anymore.

So now, the actor will be joining hands with director Lokesh Kanagaraj who bagged three back-to-back hits with 'Kaithi', 'Master', and 'Vikram'. Lokesh reportedly narrated the story and script to Charan who immediately gave the nod. So now that Shankar is busy with 'Indian 2' and Gowtam's project has been called off, Charan might soon begin shooting for Lokesh's film which will also be funded by UV Creations.
