Exclusive: Tamil actor Suriya all set to make Telugu debut

Actor Suriya's Soorarai Pottru, which released on Amazon Prime Video during the lockdown last year, has become a cult classic.
As per the latest update, Suriya was approached by popular Telugu director Boyapati Srinu. The director wants him to play a protagonist in his action thriller. In fact, the script was also narrated to Suriya.
A source revealed that Suriya has actually liked the script and accepted the offer. "This one is going to be an amazing action entertainer. Almost 90 percent of the deal is closed and 10 percent of the remaining things are yet to be closed. But yeah, there will be no backing out. An official confirmation can be expected soon," he said.
Suriya is known for playing the role of a cop, a commander, and an army official. So once again, for this film, he is said to be donning the avatar of a commander. On the work front, he already has two projects in hand. He is shooting for director Pandiraj's entertainer and has signed Gnanavel's film as well. Also, he will be seen playing himself in a cameo in Madhavan's Rocketry.
This film will be Suriya's first-ever straight Telugu film. It also marks the debut of Boyapati Srinu in the Tamil film industry as the film will be bilingual.
Boyapati is currently busy with Nandamuri Balakrishna's Akhanda. The makers are waiting to resume the last schedule of the film. A high-octane action will be shot in the final schedule.
Pragya Jaiswal is the leading lady in the movie. Balakrishna and Poorna will be playing a crucial role. Bankrolled by Miryala Ravinder Reddy, the music of the film is composed by SS Thaman. The official release date is yet to be announced.
