She wrote, "With the world of conservancy workers at its centre, the movie 'Witness' presents a never-seen-before view of metropolitan cities and the invisible corridors of power lying underneath them."
More than the post itself, what caught the attention of netizens was that she had hashtagged the Chennai Corporation apart from hashtagging phrases such as "sewer deaths," "manual scavenging," and "21st Century's Gravest Crime."
The film is directed by Deepak and stars Rohini Molleti and Shraddha. The first look poster shows the two in what looks like a court.
'Witness' revolves around an everyday crime in the city which has happened many times and has not created a ripple. Yet, for various reasons, it can't be forgotten. Shraddha plays an architect who goes out of the way to fight for a cause. The film also stars Shanmugaraja, G. Selva, Subathra Robert, Rajeev Anand, and M.A.K Ram.
Shraddha Srinath needs no introduction. She proved her mettle with films like 'U Turn', 'Jersey', 'Krishna and his Leela', and 'Vikram Vedha'.
People Media Factory, one of the leading banners in south Indian cinema, is producing this film. Deepak handles the camera while Muthuvel and J.P Sanakya have written the screenplay. Philomin Raj has edited the film and Ramesh Tamilmani is the music director.
The film, which will simultaneously release in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil, has wrapped up its shoot and is expected to hit theatres soon. 'Witness' also marks the Kollywood debut of the production house People Media Factory.
