Jagapathi Babu was born to veteran producer-director VB Rajendra Prasad. The actor made his debut with the film ‘Simha Swapnam’ in the year 1989. His debut film was bankrolled by his father. In his career of around three decades, he has acted in around 170 feature films. Over the years, the actor has worked with some popular directors such as Ram Gopal Varma, SV Krishna Reddy, Krishna Vamsi, and K. Raghavendra Rao among others.
The actor was also known as Junior Sobhan Babu for the kind of family subjects he picked and the kind of films he made, which mostly catered to the family audience.
