Have crows become a lucky charm for Tollywood heroes?
Tollywood heroes and directors have been choosing scripts that will surely entertain the audiences and not the ones that are old and stale
By Bhavana Published on 8 May 2023 3:54 AM GMTHyderabad: Off late, Tollywood heroes and directors have been choosing scripts that will surely entertain the audiences and not the ones that are old and stale. This is a change that has been seen in the young heroes and it is time for the seniors also to come out of their comfort zone and do something that impresses the audiences.
Directed by debutants
Of the many films released in March, two films that won the hearts of the audiences are Balagam and Dasara. While Balagam was directed by Venu Yeldandi, Dasara was directed by Srikanth Odela. Both the directors are from Telangana and have made their debut films in Telangana backdrop only.
In April, Sai Dharam Tej starrer Virupaksha hit the screens and it was directed by Karthik Dandu. This film is a thriller with some horror aspects and is an absolute entertainer that is still running in the theaters successfully.
These three films were directed by debutant talents and emerged as blockbuster hits at the box office. These three have ruled the box office and two of them are ruling the OTTs as well.
What is the common point?
All three films have quite several common things and one of them is a crow. As per our traditions, during the post-funeral pooja ceremonies, if crows eat the food we serve, we believe that the departed souls of our elders/ancestors are happy. Both Balagam and Dasara, have the crow in the same scenario while Virupaksha has it in a different scenario where it is shown that crows can be bad luck too.
Not Doves but Crows are the lucky charm
Earlier, especially in the 90s and 2000s, doves were part of many films. They were seen in songs, scenes, fights, or even as pets grown by the lead actors. But the above three films we have named look like crows are the latest lucky charms for Telugu heroes.
With all those three films being huge hits, maybe going further too, crows can be seen in quite a lot of films. Letās see how many young filmmakers might pick this point up.
