Hyderabad: Actor Suriya Sivakumar's 'Soorarai Pottru', directed by Sudha Kongara, was a huge hit. A few months ago, the makers announced that the film will be remade in Hindi. Finally, the Hindi version of the film went on the floors on Monday.
For a couple of days, Suriya's pictures from Mumbai have gone viral making the fans wonder what he was doing in Mumbai. Is something big cooking? they wondered.
On 25 April, the remake project was launched with a small pooja ceremony. The makers took to social media to announce the collaboration.
Suriya is one of the producers of the film and he is excited about his debut in Bollywood as a producer. He also took to social media to announce his collaboration with Akshay Kumar. The superstar tweeted photos with Akshay.
Akshay Kumar's plate is full for the next two years so it is surprising that he has announced another film amidst his busy schedule.
The actor also took to Twitter to announce the launch of the remake. "With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it. In case you'll have any title suggestions, do share and of course your best wishes," he tweeted.
Akshay's upcoming films include 'Selfiee', 'Ram Setu', 'Raksah Bandhan', 'OMG 2 ā Oh My God!', and 'Prithviraj'.
