How Pawan Kalyans political activities will cost bomb to producers

Hyderabad: Pawan Kalyan is one of the most followed and highly influential actors in Tollywood. He has four films in his kitty and hundreds of crores are currently riding on him.

Lineup of films

Pawan Kalyan recently finished the shoot of his upcoming film BRO. Since the film is slated for release on July 28, he made sure he completed his part before stepping into the election campaign.

Besides BRO, he has Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, and OG in his pipeline. Each film is in different stages of production.

Moving the movies

A couple of days ago, Pawan Kalyan performed a puja in Mangalagiri ahead of his election campaign. Producers AM Ratnam, BVSN Prasad, Ravi Shankar, Vivek Kuchibotla, and director Harish Shankar visited him and one of them even joined the Janasena Party.

These producers are supporting Pawan Kalyan in every possible way. Talking to the media, producer Ravi Shankar said, "We will anyway have to erect huge sets to shoot the film. So to support Kalyan Garu, we will build the sets in and around Vijayawada."

This might sound so nice and sweet of the producers but the fact is that it is going to cost a bomb increasing the budget.

"Taking a floor for rent in Annapurna Studios is costly but not as much as an outdoor shoot where you take hundreds of people to a particular location. Providing accommodation to them is going to increase the cost of production. But Pawan Kalyan's films can pour money into the producers' accounts. So they don't mind spending a little more," said a senior production manager.

Pawan Kalyan's agenda

Pawan Kalyan has made it clear that he is making films to earn money only to help him run his party. So his agenda is pretty clearer. He is charging nothing less than Rs 2 crore per day as remuneration and it is to be noted that producers are ready to pay what he asks.
