Kantara plagiarism row: Kerala court lifts ban on Varaharoopam song

Kantara is one of the most exciting films in recent times. Directed by actor Rishab Shetty, the film was released in multiple languages. Then, Varaha Roopam song from the film sparked controversy.

Thaikkudam Bridge claimed that the song is a copy of their Navarasam. Later, the Kerala court asked the makers not to use the song. For the past few weeks, the song has been embroiled in a legal tussle.

The film is available on Amazon Prime Video now without the original tune.

Meanwhile, team Kantara approached Kerala High Court which dismissed the plea of Thaikkudam bridge and lifted the ban on using the song on streaming services.

Made with a budget of Rs 17 crores, Kantara crossed Rs 400 crore at the box office worldwide. The film received an overwhelming response right from its first day. Bankrolled by Hombale Films, the film also features Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, and Pramod Shetty in important roles.
