Kappela Telugu remake Butta Bomma postponed; makers announce new release date

Hyderabad: Sithara Entertainments, the leading production house that has backed several quality films in recent years, has joined hands with Fortune Four Cinemas for a rural drama titled ‘Butta Bomma.’ Anikha Surendran, Surya Vashistta, and Arjun Das will play the lead roles in the film directed by debutant Shourie Chandrasekhar Ramesh.

‘Butta Bomma’ was initially slated to release on 26 January. But on Saturday, the makers took to social media to announce that the film will now release on 4 February. “A slight delay! And we believe the wait is worth it! #Buttabomma grand release worldwide in theaters on 4th February!” they tweeted.

This film is the official Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster film ‘Kappela.’ An intense poster featuring Anikha Surendran, Surya Vashistta, and Arjun Das was unveiled to confirm the release date.

“The making of ‘Butta Bomma’ is colourful and vibrant and the director has added his style to the story. I felt lucky to be a part of the film and my character goes through many emotions and it’s a performance-oriented role,” Anikha shared.

While calling the director Ramesh a taskmaster, Arjun Das said, “It was nice working with the cast of ‘Butta Bomma.’ It was easy for me to work with the director and we had a great time shooting at Vizag and Narsipatnam. I hope audiences like our work.”

Gopi Sundar has scored the music for the film. Navya Swami, Narra Srinu, Pammi Sai, Karthik Prasad, Vasu Inturi, Mirchi Kiran, Kancharapalem Kishore, and Madhumani will be seen in supporting roles. The film has cinematography by Vamsi Patchipulusu and is produced by S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya. Ganesh Kumar Ravuri, the writer who shot to fame with ‘Varudu Kavalenu,’ has penned the dialogues.
