Keerthy Suresh to play legendary singer late MS Subbulakshmi ?

Hyderabad: National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh who won appreciation for her classic hit 'Mahanati' is reportedly going to star in a biopic again.

As per the latest buzz, Keerthy Suresh is all set to essay the role of late MS Subbulakshmi in an upcoming biopic on the legendary Carnatic singer.

According to sources, J.S.K Satishkumar of JSK Film Corporation is going to bankroll the film which will be directed by Suresh Chakravarthy.

For the unversed, Kannada film producer Rockline Venkatesh, who has churned out several remakes, has tried to make a biopic on MS Subbulakshmi. However, the flick did not take off. Cinematographer-director Rajiv Menon also announced that he would do a biopic on the late singer with Vidya Balan in the lead. Menon is said to have initially offered the role to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. But then, for reasons unknown, he approached Vidya Balan who did biopics on actor Silk Smitha and mathematician Shakuntala Devi. But the project was eventually shelved owing to their creative differences.

Meanwhile, V. Raj Gopal shot a 113-minute documentary on Subbulakshmi, showcasing her journey as a Carnatic singer.

Now, finally, it is said that Suresh Chakravarthy will bring this biopic with Keerthy Suresh as MS Subbulakshmi. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
