Except for Laabam, which will have a theatrical release, all three movies will be streaming on OTT.
Here is the list of South films releasing in September
Maestro
Maestro the official Telugu remake of Bollywood's blockbuster film Andhadhun. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Andhadhun had Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Radhika Apte in lead roles. Its Telugu remake is directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and has Nithiin, Tamannaah Bhatia, Nabha Natesh, and Naresh in lead roles. The trailer and the first single from the film were unveiled recently and both have received good responses from the audiences. This film is skipping a theatrical release and is set to stream on Disney + Hotstar from September 17. Maestro is the story of a pianist who pretends to be blind. One day, he witnesses a murder and reports it to the police. What happens next will blow your mind and make it an amazing thriller with unpredictable twists.
Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum
Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum is set to be released on Amazon Prime Video. This film is produced by Jyothika and Surya under 2D Entertainment Private Limited. Directed by Arisil Moorthy, the film is a comedy-drama starring Ramya Pandian, Vani Bhojan, Mithun Manickam, and Vadivel Murugan. The film is about a village that has no electricity. One day, two bulls of a farmer go missing. He goes in search of them and accidentally meets a reporter. She too joins him to look for the missing bulls. The official streaming date of the film will be unveiled soon.
Anabelle Sethupathi
Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu, Anabelle Sethupathi is all set to stream on Disney + Hotstar from September 17. This film went on floors once the lockdown restrictions were eased. Directed by Deepak Sundarajan, the horror-comedy film will release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages. The film has been extensively shot in Jaipur and has Radikaa Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, and Rajendra Prasad also in pivotal roles.
Laabam
Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan's upcoming film Laabam will release on September 9 in the theatres. This film has been pending for a long time now and is finally hitting the screens. Written and directed by SP Jananathan, the film has music by D Imman. Produced by Vijay Sethupathi Productions and 7Cs Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Laabam is produced by P Arumuga Kumar and Vijay Sethupathi. It will hit the screens in Telugu and Tamil on September 9. Presented by Sree Battula Satyanarayana and Lawyer Sreeram, the film is a political thriller.
