Liger will be blockbuster, says Vijay Deverakonda; movie to release on 25 Aug

Hyderabad: Actor Vijay Deverakonda's much-awaited film 'Liger', directed by Puri Jagannadh, has created quite a buzz. It is set to hit the screens on 25 August and the makers have been promoting it heavily to attract audiences to the theatres.

Vijay Deverakonda, Puri Jagannadh, and the team of 'Liger' have been touring the nation in the name of "Fandom Tours." 'Liger' is Vijay's first pan-India film that is releasing in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The team started their tour of the two Telugu states from Warangal. A huge crowd attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Vijay Deverakonda said, "Wherever I went in India, people poured love on me. I will never forget the love you showered. On 25 August, your love will be returned. Puri is like my father and Charmme is like my mother. We set out to fight no matter how many difficulties we face. One should be lucky to deliver the dialogues of Puri. My favorite dialogue from Liger is – "We are Indians…Podham Kotladudham…Aag Hai Andhar. Duniyako Aag laga Denge. Sab ki Waat Laga Denge." There is no doubt about the movie. The movie is a blockbuster. If Telangana and Andhra rock the film and the collections, entire India should be shaken by the success."

Puri Jagannadh, the director of the film, was all praise for Vijay and members of the team. "Liger is releasing on 25 August. Special thanks to Karan Johar. I learned a lot from him. Thanks to Apoorva Mehta and the rest of the team. My wife asked me to watch 'Arjun Reddy' back when it was released. But I stopped watching the movie after 45 minutes. The reason is that Vijay's acting stuck in my mind. That's when I decided to do a film with Vijay."

He added, "It took us a year to get in touch with Mike Tyson and the credit goes to Charmme for bringing him onboard. We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a legend like Mike Tyson. I am unable to believe that I worked with him. Thanks to my entire team. 'Liger' is coming on 25 August. It is a fully loaded masala movie. All should watch the movie in the theater."

Ananya Panday who is making her Telugu debut with the film drew much response from the crowd. "I want to be a part of the Telugu film family. I am glad to receive this opportunity. I feel lucky to be part of this film. It was a pleasure to work with Vijay Deverakonda, Puri, and Mike Tyson. Vijay is my darling," the actress said.
