Hyderabad: For those who missed the theatrical run of Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Kaaram’ during Sankranthi, here’s some exciting news. The film’s release date on Netflix has been officially announced, and it’s set to premiere on February 9. Within four weeks of its theatrical release, the OTT streaming giant will bring the film to a global audience.
Guntur Kaaram, directed by Trivikram Srinivas and featuring Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela in lead roles, did not meet the anticipated success at the box office. Despite having high expectations, the film’s total box office collection amounted to Rs 128 crores.
Notably, the film fell short of expectations in overseas earnings, making just above Rs 32 crores. This was unexpected, given Mahesh Babu’s strong international fan base.
Netflix, known for its strategic acquisition of big South Indian films, has become the go-to platform for premiering blockbuster releases.
