Hyderabad: Not many are aware that the 2018 blockbuster Hindi film 'Andhadhun' is being remade in various languages. The Telugu remake of the same film is titled 'Maestro' and stars Nithiin, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Nabha Natesh in the roles played by Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Radhika Apte, respectively.

'Andhadhun' is also being remade in Malayalam and is titled 'Bhramam'. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran will step into the shoes of Ayushmann Khurrana to play the lead role.

The shoot resumed in the end of June and is expected to be wrapped up soon. Prithviraj made the announcement via his official Instagram account. Besides Prithviraj, actors Unni Mukundan, Raashi Khanna, and Mamta Mohandas are also part of the film while the supporting cast includes actors Surabhi Lakshmi, Ananya, Shankar, Jagadish, and Sudheer Karamana, among others. Ravi K. Chandran will helm this black comedy crime thriller remake.

Due to the current pandemic situation and the lockdown, theatres are shut across the country and producers of many films that have been waiting to hit the screens for a long time now are looking forward to releasing their films on OTTs.

According to the latest report, 'Bhramam' may also release on Amazon Prime Video sans theatrical release. There has been no official confirmation on this yet but sources say the filmmakers are looking forward to releasing this film on OTT only.

The Telugu version meanwhile will stream on Disney+ Hotstar soon. 'Maestro' is directed by Merlapaka Gandhi.
